River Report Card
Our summer program samples, analyzes and reports on the freshwater quality within the Los Angeles River, Malibu Creek and San Gabriel River watersheds in L.A. County.
Know the Flow
Test your water knowledge, and share insights about rainwater runoff and where Los Angeles gets its water in your community.
The Stream Team data portal contains a wealth of Malibu Creek water quality information. Heal the Bay staff scientists have been researching this critical habitat in the Santa Monica Mountains since 1998.
California Education and the Environment Initiative
EEI is a free, state-sponsored K-12 environmental science curriculum that supports Common Core standards.
Waves, Wetlands and Watersheds Curriculum
This classroom-based, hands-on activity guide integrates areas of critical concern (wetlands, coastal processes, marine debris and pollution, endangered species) with California Science Content Standards for grades three through eight. Also included are community action activities for all ages and grades.
Knowledge Drops Webinar Series
Heal the Bay launched “Knowledge Drops”, an interactive science education webinar series in 2020. Our team of scientists, experts, and advocates explore the water world and offer fun lessons about the marine environment. Topics are generally geared for 3rd – 8th grade students, but all ages are welcome to tune in! Each session is about 1 hour long and includes Q&A, polls, videos, and a live presentation.
